Homemade Salsa and other snacks go over huge in our family. Welcome to my life with growing boys! :) It would be easy to just head out to the store and purchase products that are already prepared simply because of the time-saving aspect, but there are so many other preservatives that are blended into these quick fixes so they will have have a great shelf life. Today, I wanted to share my families “from scratch recipe” for Easy Homemade Salsa. It is our favorite snack!

Easy Homemade Salsa Recipe

Ingredients

  • 6 Roma Tomatoes (or any red tomato)
  • 1/2 to 1 Whole Fresh Jalapeno
  • 1/2 Medium Size Onion
  • Handful of Cilantro
  • 1 Garlic Clove
  • 1 tbsp Sugar
  • Salt & Pepper (to taste)

How to Make Homemade Salsa

  • Wash all fresh produce.
  • Place all ingredients in a blender, food processor or chopper and mix.
  • Place mix in a saucepan and cook on medium heat until boiling.
  • After boiling begins, reduce heat and simmer for around 20 minutes.
  • Stir occasionally.
  • Remove from heat, allow to cool.
  • Serve and enjoy!
