Green Chile Chicken and Dumplings

Try a twist on the traditional chicken and dumplings and turn it into Green Chile Chicken & Dumplings with the help of HEB Primo Picks. Great family meal!

Ingredients

  • 1 jar Cookwell and Company Two-Step Green Chile Stew
  • 12 oz. package fully cooked Chicken Fajitas
  • 14.5 oz. Chicken Broth
  • 2 cups Heavy Cream
  • 2 can Buttermilk Biscuits uncooked

Instructions

  1. Defrost chicken and dice into bite-sized pieces
  2. Cut the raw biscuits into bite-sized pieces, set aside
  3. In a large stockpot (my favorite stockpot), add the chicken, broth, cream and Green Chile Stew Mix

  4. Stir, until the mixture comes to a boil
  5. Drop biscuits into the boiling liquid. Cook, stirring every 2 minutes for a total of 8 minutes
  6. Reduce heat and simmer for 5 more minutes.

Recipe Notes

The ingredients in this recipe were adapted to our families tastes. The original recipe called for 2 cups chicken broth and 1 can of biscuits. All the instructions are the same for either variation.
