Relaxation for Moms & the 2nd Talk….

by Kristi Reddell

Ever since I was a little girl I have feared getting old…call it a last ditch effort to stay young forever!

Last weekend I attended a blogging conference and I had the time of my life including meeting Christy with Insanity Is Not An Option.  We have talked on and off over the last several months online, but we had never actually met before. When we finally met over the weekend it was an instant connection and the stories started flying from out lips about everything from our family to menopause…

Did I just say menopause? Why YES I did! A little over 2 weeks ago I celebrated my 32nd birthday and while I know I am still a little young to even think about menopause I still wanted to learn more about it. You can ever be too informed about body changes that will happen at some point in our lives as women.

After discussing Christy’s struggles, I officially know more about menopause and what signs to look for when this stage in life begins. It’s all a stage ya know and really nothing to be scared of….

Before leaving the conference over the weekend Christy and I made a pack that we wanted to have the 2nd talk and wouldn’t you know…we live pretty darn close to each other….we didn’t even know it! Crazy, right? She pretty much lives in my backyard!

So this week we made an afternoon of it and headed over to Zen Salon and Laser Spa…

Even though my mind was reeling with more questions to ask about the big “M,” I managed to just relax. Yes I said relax and we all should take note of this. As moms and ladies we deserve to pamper ourselves every now and then. We need it…our husbands… significant others and we can’t forget the kids need us to just give time for ourselves too!

WOW! What an experience! Christy and I had another great talk before and after our massage and facial that had us both laughing when Christy walked out with a yellow face…trust me that’s what her face was supposed to look like at that point.

Me on the other hand looked like I had slept for 3 days!  Talk about one relaxed mom!  The saying “if momma ain’t happy…” yep a relaxing massage can take your cares away!  Try it! :)

Hang out with us at the spa through pictures!! :)

Our second meet and greet was even more fun than the first. Wanna make a date for #3?

Spa afternoon and mom time? Fun! And at least you’re preparing yourself early. I never gave a second thought about getting old and thought I would be young forever until I had kids but nothing makes you realize your own mortality and the passage of time like watching babies grow. I’m mostly at peace with it now and I’m sure a spa would make anything seem better.

Relaxing is an interesting concept that I should try! I’m glad you had a chance to be pampered!
